DOWNY PRODUCT RECOMMENDER
This was by far my favorite project while working with Whittmanhart Interactive for P&G. I asked the question...what if we could actually give people real product recommendations instead of recommending the latest product?
We knew that people based their fabric softener purchases based on how they smell so we took on the challenge of finding a way. My logic was that if people had scent preferences, we could tailor questions around them that would provide the end user a logical suggestion. The result was the Downy Product Recommender. I worked with a designer, two developers, and a statistician to create the logic for the tool based on scent preferences. This took place before AI and P&G did notice increased sales after the recommender was launched. This was a terrific success. |
